Only one more sleep...

Yesterday I picked up a really cute bent fork bangle from a guy off our local Freecycle. It got too dark to photograph it last night. It kinda reminds me of an octopus. I love nautical stuff, so I was chuffed:)

My parcel-delivery guy made my day this morning when he turned up with the book I ordered a few weeks ago. I'm sure I made his day too, answering the door in my dressing gown and bed hair. Not.
The book is called "The Complete Tightwad Gazette"all about living frugally. I can't wait to start reading it. It's something that interests me a lot. Our lives are so overrun with "stuff". I think it's our responsibility to stop being so wasteful.

I spent a good portion of this afternoon making a calendar for my Pa. It's his birthday today. He turned 88! He doesn't look a day over 70, handsome devil;) Well, I'm off to drink some Black Russians, play some trivia games and have an otherwise quiet evening. Unless I happen to have more than 2 Black Russians, then it could prove rather interesting. I am rubbish at drinking haha!
Hope you all have a wonderful New Year, and your heads aren't too sore in the morning!
I'll be back tomorrow, ready to start my 365 crafting challenge, yay!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Bunnies, blogs and other fun stuff:)

Well, our naughty bunny turned up after about two hours yesterday! My DH walked into the bungalow after work, and she hopped in the door behind him! Then she buggered off up the back yard and it took us 10 minutes to catch her. She's clever!

My mum has been clearing out her sewing room, and gave me my Nanna's sewing box. I'd just been thinking the other day that I would like to get one, so she must've read my mind. My dear Nanna passed away in 2000, so it's nice to get some of her stuff:) And its so retro and cute!!

I also scored a bunch of mum's craft magazines (yay!) so I shall be doing some reading later and getting all sorts of wonderful ideas for my 365 days of crafting challenge. I must give credit to Lupin for the inspiration. When I work out how to put links up, I will put a link to her fab blog called Bugs and Fishes. She makes the most delicious things out of felt, and consequently kicked off my current obsession with felt!
I've already got a couple of ideas rattling around in my head for my crafting challenge. It's bad sometimes because I can think of sooo many things I would like to do, and my brain starts going into overload-I get a little too excited. It's worse at night-time because I lie awake and think of all the awesome crafty things that I could do. Then I can't sleep. Which is why I try reeeally hard not to peruse Craftster.org before bed. Heehee!

Speaking of bed, I only just managed to get this little bugger off to his bed a short time ago. DS3 drags it out as long as possible. As do most 3 year olds!
I think it is almost past my bed time too!
Almost.

Still in cleaning mode today...and getting nowhere fast!! Actually, I shouldn't say that-Mt Washmore is down to it's last load. Dishes are done. Our room looks fairly decent-I haven't tackled the wardrobe yet though. The boys rooms...ugh. Lounge room..about as bad!
I've been feeling totally crappy from eating an over-abundance of junk. I think I have single-handedly consumed about a kilo of chocolate in the last few days since Christmas. I'm detoxing today haha.

In fact, I made the nicest soup for lunch-I plan on having some more for tea. I haven't touched a single sweet thing all day so I am rather pleased with myself.

I have just been informed that my 3 year old son has let our bunny out of her cage and we have just spent the best part of half an hour searching for her...to no avail:( We think she might be under the house or in the bungalow. She's probably been out and about for a couple of hours now. I hope she turns up!!!

Getting organised

I spent the whole day yesterday sorting out our back room to move our DD1 in there. She's been sleeping in our room since she was born, so I thought it was time to move into her own room. She slept until 4am which is pretty good!! I'm trying to get as much decluttering and sorting out done before New Years as I can. My eldest son starts school this year, so I'm going to get organised!! I'll be listing a whole bunch of stuff on Freecycle today. I feel scattered when we have too much junk around! Moving onto our room today. Without the cot in there we actually have room to move LOL!!

Hi!

Welcome to my blog!

I'm Bettie.

I'm a stay-at-home mum to 3 gorgeous kids, and I intend to make 2009 a crafty year! I often feel stifled when I can't create something, so in 2009 I intend to make something every single day. That's mostly what I'll be writing about here.

I'm also aiming to start my own Etsy shop, so a lot of the things you see on here will most likely end up there:)

Hope you enjoy reading my posts!
